Giuseppe is predeceased by his parents Francesco and Rosa Maria; his brothers, Gerardo and Antonio; his sister Antonietta Russo, and brothers-in-law, Michele Russo, Giuseppe Russo and most recent, his brother-in-law Giuseppe Nardiello. He leaves to mourn his wife Antonietta of 60 years; children, Rosa (Reg) Rutherford, Angelina (Frank) Capasso, Franca (Bill) Johnson, Tony (Kim) Perillo; grandchildren, Tony, Maria, Sabrina, Joel, Kayla, Matteo, Brysen, and Tara and two family pets Sadie and Bruno. His sister Maria Vincenza Russo and brother Michele (Elizabetta) Perillo; sisters-in-law, Antonietta Perillo, Vincenza Nardiello and Antonietta Rendina in Muro Lucano, Italy; brother-in-law Antonio (Louise) Nardiello in BC and many nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends. Giuseppe was born March 23, 1926 in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Italy. He married his wife Antonietta on January 5, 1947. He lived and worked in Charleroi, Belgium before he immigrated to Canada in 1954. His wife Antonietta and his two daughters, Rosa and Angelina joined him in 1955. Shortly after, his two brothers, Antonio and Michele and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Antonietta and Michele Russo, Vincenza and Giuseppe Russo and their families immigrated to Canada. His mother Rosa Maria immigrated to Canada when she was 84 years old in 1974. He was a cement finisher and worked for different construction companies in the city of Winnipeg until he semi-retired. He helped build the Seven Oaks Hospital, Canada Post Office, Health Sciences and many other Winnipeg buildings. He worked long hours with his brother Antonio doing stucco on houses, sidewalks or any other small construction jobs. Shortly after his brother passed away he retired. He enjoyed going to spend mornings at X-Cues Club (Enzo's) to meet with friends, play cards, enjoy a cup of espresso and tell a story. He loved to play a good game of Bocce, cards and his competitive spirit always shone through. In the last few years, he enjoyed his time in the garden, specifically tending to his grape vines. He was proud of his homemade wine and he loved to share it with everyone. His other enjoyments in life were playing his accordion and dancing. His family was his passion and he loved spending time with them, preferably at intervals so the house was bustling. The boss always had a gift or a household chore for someone in the family to do. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19 at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Eternal Memories Mausoleum. Cheung and the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare and daily visits by his homecare workers Teresa and Donna and many others that helped to make his quality of life enjoyable.
