VERA FLORENCE NIESSNER (nee PALMER) October 6, 1919 - January 30, 2007 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, Vera passed away at Oakview Place. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Adam of 62 years; daughters, Judy, Joyce (Nils) and Susan (Roy); grandchildren, Adam, Kyle, Erin, Allison, Deanne and Julie; brothers, Reg (Isabel) and Jim (Marilyn); sisters, Ruby and Vi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Vera was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. She was a kind, caring, thoughtful person who always put other people first. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, baking, knitting, curling, bowling, bingo and bridge. Summers were enjoyed at the cottage at Beaver Creek, while winters were often spent traveling. The family sends out a special thank you to the staff at Oakview Place for their kindness and support over the past 10 years. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2007, 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
