JOSEPH FEDORAK It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Fedorak. Peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Grace General Hospital, Joe passed away at the age of 86 years with his family by his side. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his devoted children and grandchildren, Karen and Murray, Ray and Rose; Jody, Jillian, Marcus, Charlene, Christina. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Sveinn Palsson and Murray Brown; sisters-in-law Anne Fedorak and Edna Derr; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy in 1987; his parents, Anna and George Fedorak; his brothers, Nick, Bill, John, Tony; sister Mary and his dear sister Kay who just recently passed away; Marlene Gisti, his niece, who was dear to his heart. Joe was born in Pleasant Home, MB on April 11, 1920. Joe spent his early years in Inwood and he served in active service with E.S. Second Division in France. He was wounded August 24, 1944 and returned to Canada in December of that year. He then spent two years at Deer Lodge Hospital. In July 1947 Joe took the position of Postmaster until his retirement in October of 1980. He married Dorothy Burley on October 30, 1954 and remained in Inwood until he moved to Teulon in August 1998, in April 2005 he relocated to Winnipeg. Joe belonged to the Inwood Sports Club, Royal Canadian Legion and B.P.O.E. Joe enjoyed woodworking and was a sport enthusiast, avid golfer and always took pride in his garden and yard. No matter where he lived his door was always open to family and friends. Thank-you to all the staff a Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence and to the Doctors and nursing staff at the Grace General Hospital and especially the ICU nursing staff for their care and compassion during Dad's final hours. Also thank-you to Chaplain Max Ryan for his comforting words and prayers. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Inwood Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Gethsemane Lutheran Church or to a charitable organization of one's choice.
