GARRY JAMES OSTASH October 26, 1950 - February 9, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Garry Ostash at his home in Lockport, MB. He leaves to mourn his wife and soulmate, Bev; son Kevin; daughter Missy (Neal); mother Jean; brothers, Peter, Larry; sister Betty and their extended families. Along with mother-in-law Catherine Whalen, Bev's extended family and a tremendous amount of friends. Garry touched so many lives and will always be remembered as the greatest role model his family and friends could ever be blessed with. Garry's favourite past time was golf and he held several positions on the executive board of Selkirk Golf and Country Club. As the owner of 243 Construction Ltd. Garry was a person who took great pride in his work. He was currently employed with B F Masonry of Winnipeg which he considered to be his second family. Family and friends were always first and foremost in his mind caring for everyone else before himself. He lived every day to its fullest, we will all miss his great sense of humour along with his generous spirit of giving. The family would like to extend their thanks to their family, friends, neighbours for all their love help and support as well as a special thanks to the local R.C.M.P. and Emergency Services. At Garry's request cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garry's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Firefighters Burn Fund, 303 - 83 Garry St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9 or to CancerCare MB, ON1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
