HERBERT ARNO KUNERT It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert A. Kunert, on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 94. Herbert is survived by grandson Gabor Poczik (Robin); great-grandsons, Robert (Jodi) and Tyler Poczik; great-granddaughter Kristin Bishop; great-great-granddaughters, Emma and Sadies Poczik. Herbert was born in Dresden, Germany. He immigrated to Canada, where he was employed at AEI Telecom as a shop foreman in the steel department for 25 years. He retired from his position and began his long and happy retirement years. Herbert was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed big band music, gardening, crosswords, spending time with family and his cat Sam. Herbert enjoyed the company of friends at Arlington Haus for the past two years where he resided. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. The family would like to thank the 5th Floor staff at the Grace Hospital for their kindness. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Green Acres Cemetery (Hwy. #1 East).
