ANNE RICHARDSON FOLLETT It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Richardson Follett (nee Birrell) on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Banner Bayview Hospital, Mesa, AZ. Anne will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 43 years, Reginald; her daughter Sheena (Murray) Fletcher of East St. Paul; stepdaughter Marcia (Murray) Rankin of Killarney; stepson Brad (Sher) Follett of Calgary; grandchildren, Brad (Karen) Fletcher of Toronto, Scott (Renee) Fletcher of East St. Paul, Shelley (Kevin) Rattai of Beausejour, Gerri (Jim) Marshall of Winnipeg, Troy (Jen) Rankin of Minnesota, Shawn (Andrea) Rankin of Minnesota, Stacey Rankin of Minnesota and Chase Follett of Calgary; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kyla, Brenden, Evann, Sheyanne, Abby, Kellie, Kristyn, Jamie, Sean, Haley, Tanna and Owen; four great-great-grandchildren; her brother John Birrell; her nephew Gordon (Diana) of New Zealand and her nephews, David (Catherine) and Alan (Lorraine) of Scotland. Anne was born June 17, 1922 in Newtongrange, Scotland and was predeceased by her mother and father, James and Jean Birrell and her brother David of Scotland. Anne immigrated to Winnipeg with her daughter in 1950, where she resided until 1982 when she and Reg retired to Mesa, AZ. Anne loved to entertain. Everyone who knew her in the 1960s and 1970s will remember the hospitality afforded them at Club 1202 Kildonan Drive. She also loved to cook, listen to great music and in her later years, attend the meat draw at the Henderson Highway Branch 215 Royal Canadian Legion. Of her proudest accomplishments, Anne was employed for 32 years with Prudential Financial in Winnipeg as a Section Head in their Mortgage Loan and Tax Division. She was a member and past president of the East Kildonan Lioness Club, and after a few years of retirement, Anne and Reg purchased and operated the G Bar G Lounge on Main Street in Mesa, AZ during the 1980s. As much as Anne loved the South, she was always happiest during the months of May to October, when they were home in Canada, where time was spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss their Nana dearly. She was extremely proud of her family. A celebration of Anne's life will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy, Saturday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson 338-0331 www.klassenfuneralhome.com
