Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIO ROMEO Surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 24, 2007, Antonio Romeo passed away. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Caterina and Pasquale Romeo. He leaves to mourn his wife Amelia, two daughters, Caterina (M. Ben Mzakar) and Linda, and two grandchildren, Alexa and Noah Mzakar. He is also survived by his sister Angelina Allegro, two brothers, Joseph Romeo (Regina), Angelo Romeo (Rosetta), many nephews, nieces as well as extended family in Italy and the U.S. Antonio was born on May 21, 1929 in Amato, Catanzaro, Italy. There he apprenticed as a cabinet maker. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 where he worked as a cabinet maker. In later years, he worked in maintenance for ASSD until his retirement in 1993. Antonio was a gentle, peaceful man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to read, enjoyed poetry, playing music and working in his garden. He was a hardworking man who adored his family and his Italian culture. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, February 28 at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Ave. at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment to follow at Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Ross Allegro, Bob Mauthe, Pasquale Romeo, Franco Siciliano, Lucia Siciliano, Cory Tucker, Paulo and Marianna Vieira. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. K. Lamba and the kind staff of GA4 and GD5 at the Health Sciences Centre.
