MWINJI KAONGA Mwinji Nakawala Kaonga passed away at the age of 34 on March 2, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes Avenue. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at St. Boniface and Victoria Hospital for their compassion and care, friends in Canada, Zambia and all over the world as well as the African Communities of Manitoba. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Focus Africa, phone 269-5635.

Mwinji was one of my first friends when I moved to winnipeg for school. I have been thinking about her quite abit lately. I know she has a sister and brother or two in winnipeg. She invited me to her house for a traditional meal from back home. Even though we didn't keep in touch after school I thought about her on and off wondering how do I reach out and find you. You will always be in my thoughts and you were an important part of my first experiences in the city. I wish I could have talked to you one more time.
