JOAN EUGENIA PETERS (nee PRESNAK) Peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2007, at the Charleswood Care Centre, Joan passed away at the age of 93 years. Remaining to cherish Joan's memory are her son Brian; daughter Bonnie (Boulet); grandchildren, Moira, Coady, Kevin (Boulet) and Brendan; and sister Patricia (Hansen). She was predeceased by her husband Otto; brother Bill (Presnak) and sister Anne (Frank). Joan lived her life in the North End of Winnipeg, where she raised her family and generously shared her talents and resources among relatives, friends and neighbours. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked for many years at the Hudson's Bay Company. Joan and her husband Otto were avid square dancers at the Orioles Community Club. She enjoyed travelling with her family and spending weekends at Winnipeg Beach. Joan benefited from the loving care and attention of her husband in her later years until Otto's death in January, 2006. A private family service for Joan was held on Friday, March 9 in The Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to extend many thanks to the staff on Unit 3 at the Charleswood Care Centre, for their support and compassion throughout this last year. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Joan's memory to a charity of one's choice.
