Her final days were spent surrounded by loved ones that Anabelle had touched in a big way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. She is now our little angel who will continue to inspire us and give us strength from heaven above. Anabelle's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her beautiful gaze and gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her. Anabelle's most commanding trait would be her beautiful head of hair; it offered such amazement to those who first met her. Although Anabelle's illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage she taught us that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. It's been an honor to share her experience with others and we take pride that our little angel has been a source of inspiration for others. Anabelle leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. Anabelle's love extends to the wonderful staff at the Variety Children's Heart Centre especially her cardiologist, Dr. Soni and her nurses Lea and Amber who will always have a special place in our hearts because of their continued dedication, love and support. Anabelle's love also extends to her heart surgeon Dr. Rebeyka and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the NICU and PICU at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton where she spent the first six weeks of her life to undergo and recover from heart surgery. Anabelle's love extends to the doctors, nurses and staff of the CK5 unit at the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg, Health Sciences Centre where she completed her recovery upon her return from Edmonton. And lastly Anabelle's love extends to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Emergency Department at the Children's Hospital who were with her during her final moments.
