ELSIE AGNES MCLEOD With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Nanaimo General Hospital. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Norman on December 30, 1973. She leaves behind her son Barry (Edith) McLeod; daughters, Barbara (Del) Stevenson, Verna (Oscar) Cameron, Brenda (Frank) Ritcey; her grandchildren, James McLeod, Loren and Kevin (Shawna) Stevenson, Kyle and Lisa Ritcey, Gavin and Clayton Cameron; her great-grandchild Tallis McLeod/Campbell; and several nieces and nephews, as well as members of the Armstrong and Hauzeneder family (predeceased daughter-in-law Elizabeth McLeod). Elsie was born on June 12, 1917, in Narciss, MB, and lived most of her married life in Bissett, Manitoba, where they lived until 1966 when they moved to Kamloops, BC. Elsie's focus was always her family. She loved to have company over and was famous for her cooking. Elsie and Norman were members of the Legion after moving to Kamloops and she was well known on the North Shore for her part in the annual poppy drive. Elsie was a very generous and compassionate human being, gave to many charities and always tried to help those less fortunate. We'll miss you, Mom. The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff of Malaspina Care Home in Nanaimo and Nanaimo General Hospital for their care and kindness. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vern Frudd officiating. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Elsie's memory. Flowers gratefully declined. Kamloops Funeral Home 285 Fortune Drive 554-2577 Condolences may be emailed to: sympathy@shawbiz.ca
