Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR EDWARD DUFFY Suddenly, on Saturday, April 21, 2007, Victor passed from this life ending a long struggle with diabetes, cancer and heart conditions. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Clara; brothers, Harold, Frankie, Carl, Jack, and Russell; sisters, Irene and Margarite. He leaves to mourn his wife Gladys; her children, Trish (Roger), Peggy (Frank), Tracy (Scott), Tammy (Paul) and Russell. Uncle Vic will be missed by the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vic was an avid sports fan who once tried out for the New York Rangers when scouts came to town. As a curler, Vic skipped three of his brothers, winning a berth where they traveled as a team to Vancouver to compete. Vic was a long time member in good standing with A.N.A.F. 283 enjoying the camaraderie of playing darts, pool, shuffle board and bingo. During his professional life he worked at the C.P.R. and for the St. James School Division. After his retirement, he enjoyed many summers at the lake - owning cabins at Barrier Bay and Lee River where he enjoyed feeding the birds and chipmunks as well as making many longtime friends. Vic faced many his medical challenges with courage, faith and a conviction that never defeated him. As a man that was always getting better, trying harder and expecting more he will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing one half hour prior.
