REGINA (NENA) MIRANDA GARCES Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2007 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 85 years. Regina was predeceased by her beloved husband Pascual, son Ray, and daughter Marlene. Born in Tayug, Pangasinan on September 7, 1921 and blessed with a large family, she will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Edgar (Evelyn) of Hawaii, Nelson (Nene) of Vancouver, Danny (Nadya) of Winnipeg, daughter-in-law Marylou of Vancouver, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. After a teaching career in the Philippines, Regina immigrated to Canada in 1970 and worked at the St. Boniface Hospital until retirement. She was an active member of OFSAM. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, crossword puzzles, jumble, watching the news and answering Jeopardy trivia on TV. She took pride in her house in Tayug and the achievements of her children and grand-children. Viewing (Lamay) will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thank you to the staff of Parkview Lodge and Riverview Health Centre C3 for their loving care and support.
