REVEREND RAYMOND NELS ERICKSON 1926 - 2007 Rev. Raymond Erickson (81) died peacefully surrounded by family on May 12 after a long struggle with heart disease. Raymond was born in Killam, Alberta on February 17, 1926 to Ella (neé Olsenberg) and Nels Erickson. He will be greatly missed by Marie, his wife of 58 years, daughters, Sharon (Tom) and Wendy, son Duane (Debbie), grandchildren, Julia (Martin), Emily, Laura, Nicole and Jordan, great-grandchildren, Stella, Eva, Matt and Jess, surviving brothers, Lester, Gordon and Dennis and sister Joyce, his large extended family and more distant relatives he met through his passion for family history. Raymond will also be greatly missed by those he served in his 40 years in Christian ministry in Alberta and Ontario. Raymond was not only a dedicated pastor, but also a gifted leader of church building projects at Calvary Gospel Church in Welland, Bayridge Bible Church in Kingston, and Cedarview Alliance Church in Ottawa. He also served on the pastoral care team at the Ottawa Hospital. He loved spending time with his family, travelling and golfing. Raymond continued to minister to others in bearing several years of declining health with faith, dignity and courage. He and his family convey heartfelt thanks for wonderful medical and spiritual care he received at St. Boniface General Hospital, Riverview Health Centre and the Home Care Program. In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care and Hospice Manitoba, N119 - 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 are encouraged.
