LYDIA FAST On Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at her residence, Lydia Fast died at the age of 98 years. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, six sisters, three sisters-in-law and a niece and a great-nephew. Lydia was born on the estate Anofka, Ufa, Russia, and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1925. Lydia was a longtime member of Central Mennonite Brethren Church and active in all church activities and later on specifically in the deaconate ministry. Prior to retirement Lydia worked in private clubs and homes as a domestic and was always grateful for the treatment and kindness she received from her former employer. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
