MAXINE ANNE KASTES (nee Baskerville) Peacefully after a long illness Maxine Anne Kastes, 77 years of age, passed away on June 7, 2007 at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul Kastes Sr., and her parents, Frank and Anne Baskerville. Maxine, an only child, was born in Winnipeg on October 28, 1929. She grew up in Winnipeg's West End where she met and later married Paul Sr. on April 21, 1949. Together they raised a family of four boys in St. Vital. Paul Sr. and Maxine spent most of their retirement years in Florida where Maxine enjoyed walking the beach, painting with water colours, and spending time with friends. Maxine leaves to cherish her memory her four sons: Paul Jr., his wife Janice and children, Katie and Kylie of Palm Harbor, Florida; Kirk, his wife Diane and children, Ryan, his wife Kyla and child Kade and Krystal Partridge and her children, Chase and Alisa; Dane, his wife Bonita and children, Paul, Evan and Kallan; and Wade and his wife Sherry. Thank you to the staff in the respiratory programs at Deer Lodge and Riverview Health Centres who helped and cared for Maxine during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Maxine will be laid to rest following a graveside service on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue.
