Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY MEDA (WELYHORSKI) It is with very deep heartfelt sorrow and sadness that I announce the very sudden and untimely passing of my dearly beloved sister, Audrey, on June 5, 2007, at the Concordia Hospital, after a brief illness. Left to cherish Audrey's memory is her devoted brother and best friend, Wayne, of Winnipeg, brother Walter (Bea); nephew Michael; and nieces, Stephanie, Audrey and Nancy and their families, all of St. John's, Newfoundland; cousins, Leo in British Columbia, Tony in Winnipeg and Joe in California. She also leaves behind many friends and co-workers. Audrey was predeceased by her father Jerry; mother Stephanie; nephew Paul; and her husband Bill. Audrey was born on October 7, 1932, and grew up and lived all her life in Transcona. She worked in the Accounting Department at Dominion Bridge for over 45 years, retiring in July 1993. Audrey had a wonderful 10-year marriage with her husband Bill, before sickness took him away from her. Their 10 years together were the best years of their lives they enjoyed travelling, entertaining family and friends and enjoying all that life had to offer. Her retirement years were full and happy as she travelled to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and the Mexican Riviera cruises, China, shopping excursions to the U.S. and her casino getaways. Audrey maintained a lovely home in Transcona and her gardening was admired by many who passed by her home. Audrey was always a happy person, enjoyed life to the fullest and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her laughter was infectious and she never seemed to run out of things to say - earning her the nickname of motor mouth. Audrey valued her many friendships over the years and especially enjoyed her monthly retirees' luncheons with her school chums and girls from Dominion Bridge. She was also a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Holy Family Nursing Home for many years. Many thanks to Dr. E. Pilat and nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for their special care of Audrey during her brief time at the hospital. At Audrey's request no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date. If you wish to honour Audrey's memory please make a donation to a charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
