Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA MERTINS (nee GRUNING) Peacefully following a lengthy illness, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Mertins with her family by her side. She passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Victoria General Hospital. Lydia will be remembered by her children Hans, Sylvia (Tom), Gerry, Paul, Peter (Merle); grandchildren Jon, Brian, Scott, Sarah, Jaimie, Julia and great-granddaughter Catherine. She was predeceased by her husband Gerhardt. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. at Manahan, with Rev. Dr. Patrick A. Morand officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria General Hospital, 4th floor, for the kindness shown to mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
