ANDREA SIGRID FINNBOGASON Andrea peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the St. Boniface General Hospital surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 49 years. Andrea was born February 22, 1958 in Winnipeg, grew up in St. Vital and graduated from Dakota Collegiate. Upon graduating, Andrea worked at Eaton's Attractions Ticket Office much to the delight of her brother and sisters who attended many concerts with great seats. Andrea later moved on to Le Chateau before being employed by the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department where she enjoyed 16 fulfilling years of employment. Predeceased by her father W. H. (Bill) Finnbogason on August 23, 2006, Andrea is survived by her mother Nona May Finnbogason; sisters, Enid (Danny), Lenore (Sieg); brother Paul (Barbara); nieces and nephews, Oryan (Jen), Adam, Jesse, Carmen, Suzannah, David, and great-nephew Aidan. Andrea will be lovingly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends and co-workers. Andrea enjoyed her many years at Pinehurst Farms with Frank De Rose. Andrea returned to Winnipeg to be closer to the health care that she needed. Andrea's family would like to acknowledge their sincere appreciation to Keith Taenzer for his unending emotional support during Andrea's courageous battle for life. During her illness Andrea held onto her wonderful sense of humour and her genuine concern for others. Andrea was not a quitter; she met adversity with quiet strength and conviction. During her lifetime Andrea demonstrated a great love of nature and a sincere love of all God's creatures. The Finnbogason family would like to thank the physicians and nursing staff of 5B and the Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. We would also like to extend special thanks to Sheila Ewasiuk for her loving support of the family. A memorial service in celebration of Andrea's life will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue (Aubrey Street entrance), at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted for Palliative Care at St. Boniface General Hospital, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 9Z9. I had the great joy of going out with Andrea for a period of time in the early 70s. I just found about her passing today.. 13 since God invited his angel back home.. My memories are of young woman with a deep passion for life, with a huge heart and a smile that could warm the coldest Winnipeg winter night. Her eyes were large, liquid like a full moon full of intelligence and inquisitiveness. I also remember speaking to her of spiritual things and remember so vividly her faith in the invisible creator and power of divine love. Rest in peace sweet princess who touched the heart of so many with your unconditional love. - Posted by: Brent fidler (Long lost friend) on: Mar 04, 2020

To Andrea's Family: I cant believe that I'm hearing about this 10 years later. I am so sad. I cannot believe that this lovely lady is gone. Life Story: Good girl meeting bad girl. HaHa Of course I was the bad seed. But we had so much fun in the short time we hung out together. Doing all the bad things that we all did at that age. But I digress😄 I'm so sorry for your loss! I can still picture her laugh. And her boyfriend at the time,John. My sincere condolences. Joanne Jeanson Garand - Posted by: Joanne Garand (Friend ) on: Sep 05, 2017
