MYRA KRAVETSKY (nee POLLOCK) 1922 - 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother on June 30, 2007 at the age of 85. Born in Uman, Russia she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1927, settled in Bethany, Manitoba and married Hy on December 27, 1942 in Winnipeg. She will always be lovingly remembered by her children, Patti Morris (Bill), Neil Kravetsky (Maria), Harriet Cipilinski (Jack), and Michael Kravetsky (Joanne); grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ara) Morris, Marshall (Marlo) Morris, Charles Morris, Marlo (Mark) Laurie, Jodi (Josh) Kravetsky, Sean Kravetsky, Daniel Cipilinski, Sheera (Ryan) Cipilinski, Aviva Cipilinski, Nathan Kravetsky and Ashley Kravetsky; great-grandchildren, Harlan, Emma, Sarah and Tyson Morris and Hayden Laurie. Myra was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Sluva Pollock; her husband Hy, and her dear daughter Tammy. She will also be missed by the Pollock and Kravetsky families. Myra will affectionately be remembered as an advocate for the intellectually challenged and her involvement in the Shalom Residences. She also enjoyed her role as a volunteer ESL teacher for various Winnipeg schools for many years until her recent battle with cancer. Her greatest pleasure was her fabulous family dinners and get togethers which we all cherished and will dearly miss. The funeral took place on July 2 at Congregation Etz Chayim and interment was at the Rosh Pina Cemetery. Donations to Shalom Residences Inc., 100-1010 Sinclair St. (582-7064) would be appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Although many years have passed since your mother's passing I am only finding out today. I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all family members. I have many fond memories of Tammy and also your dear mother. She used to say that we were kindred spirits and that we had a special connection. I was very fond of her. I am so sorry she is gone as the world was a better place with her in it. It has been about 16 years since I have moved from winnipeg and am now living in Prince Edward Island. When ever I think of my days at Shalom your Mom and Tammy are always in my thoughts. - Posted by: Gloria Kulba (Group Home Manager for Shalom Res. Worked with Tammy) on: Mar 25, 2013
