JASON D. B. SURBEY I Thought It Was You I saw you the other day in my rear view mirror. You, like the rest of us, were looking a little older, But your hand on the steering wheel and profile were exactly as I remember. I saw you out of the corner of my eye, You were a teenager again and awkward in your movements. It brought a smile to my face to remember when... I heard a story that made me laugh so hard that it brought a tear to my eye, Because I never thought I'd laugh so hard as I did with you, The funniest person I ever knew. I heard Pink Floyd on the radio and you were there in an instant, Sitting next to me. I saw your childhood friend and caught up on his life with the wife and kids and pictured you doing the same. You were re-roofing Miramichi last week. Hanging out at the cottage in the sun with friends, The place you'd most like to be! When I miss you, I look into the eyes of your nephew and remember your zest for life, And everything sweet, genuine, and loyal about you. I smile when I look at your niece, there's no mistaking it, She's you through and through! I used to look for you everywhere, Looking for signs. Now I know, you are here with us, Helping us through life. Luv Ya Ta Bits Wish You Were Here Your Family
