DINIS DE SOUSA MELO After a courageous battle with cancer Dinis passed away peacefully on July 14, 2007, at the age of 46, with his wife, daughters and family by his side. Dinis is survived by his wife Ana Maria, and daughters, Veronica and Vanessa; parents, Jacinto and Osvalda; sisters, Maria (Manuel), and Natividade (Antonio) of Sao Miguel, Açores; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and close relatives. Dinis was born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Açores on August 13, 1960. He immigrated to Canada in 1991 in order to create a better life for his young family. Dinis was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a kind, caring and a hard-working man who always put his family first. His strong faith in God gracefully carried him through life till the end. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, July 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. N. with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated on Wednesday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Fr. José Eduardo Medeiros, V. F. officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and compassion during Dinis' illness, especially to the staff and care of Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dinis' memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. We will love you always and forever.
