WAYNE MCISAAC May 9, 1942 - July 14, 2007 Wayne McIsaac (the Rocket ) passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the age of 65 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Dolores Doll McIsaac; daughter Kerri Read (nee McIsaac), son Jay McIsaac, son-in-law David Read and daughter-in-law Sylvia Schroeder McIsaac. Also his grandson and Little buddy Avery Read. Wayne is also survived by his sister Beverley Matthewman (nee McIsaac), brother Glen McIsaac and their families. He is predeceased by his father Richard McIsaac and his mother Dorothy Dora McIsaac (nee Reynolds). Wayne was employed as a salesman for Blackwoods Beverages for 11 years prior to becoming a proud member of the Winnipeg Fire Department. Wayne served 31 years and retired in the rank of Captain in January of 2003. He developed many friendships in his years as a firefighter and held these friendships dear to his heart making sure to attend every event and coffee gathering even after his retirement. Wayne was proud of his children's accomplishments. One of which was when he welcomed Jay into the Fire Department family as a fellow member. He enjoyed working on the same shift as Jay and at times at the same station. Wayne was very involved with the Heritage Victoria Community Club as a coach and a Community Club executive member when his children were playing hockey, ringette and baseball. More recently, he enjoyed attending his grandson's soccer and hockey games. Wayne also enjoyed attending Bomber practices with his wife, taking his grandson to the Bomber games with a trip to A W prior to each game. We know that Avery will always have his own special angel Papa watching over him. Wayne wore his heart on his sleeve and was always one to put others needs and desires before his own. We will miss his kind heart and welcoming smile. Sleep well Dad - we will miss you. The family would like to thank the Family Medicine staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, the staff at Health Sciences Centre CancerCare, as well as at Oakview Place.
