JOHN CHIPKA 1915 - 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather late Saturday night, July 14, 2007, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Nell, daughter Lesley (Jim) Klone, brother Bill, granddaughters Susan (Bart) Klein, Stacey Chipka (Rob McKee), Leanne (Chris) Hutchison, grandson Ian Chipka, great-grandsons Zachary and Luke Klein, Maxwell McKee, daughter-in-law Gert and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Barry, his parents, sister Stephanie and brother Michael. As a young man he was a very good hockey player, drafted by the New York Rangers. He also loved softball and golf, winning a Club Championship at St. Boniface Golf Club. He was a kind-hearted, loving and devoted man. John and Nell would have celebrated their 68th anniversary in August. He was a longtime resident of East Kildonan and worked for Canada Packers for 47 years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Saturday, July 21 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation could be made to a charity of your choice.
