What it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. Your smiling face and pleasant ways Are a pleasure to recall. You had a kindly word for each, And died beloved by all. I laugh, I smile and play the part But behind it lies my broken heart. They say memories are golden And maybe that is true, But I never wanted memories I only wanted to be with you.
