Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE ANNE FIGURSKI (nee BASKER) July 9, 1933- August 17, 2007 Quietly Kaye Figurski took refuge with our Lord, passing in comfort and surrounded by family at her home in Winnipeg after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by parents, Cassie and Ronald Basker; sister Belle, and brother Jack. She leaves behind her husband Don; brother Danny, children, Cathie (and Dale) Devos, Mike (and Charity) Figurski, Theresa (and Kerry) Chartrand; six grandchildren and countless friends and family. Born in Mull River (near Mabou) Nova Scotia, Kaye completed her high school education with the Grey Nuns and travelled extensively before finding love in Saskatchewan. While providing a wonderful home for her family, she enjoyed a 30 year career in retail security, taught catechism in the public school system, and campaigned tirelessly for her political and public convictions. She volunteered with the Roman Catholic Church, Kidney and Liver Foundations, and Winakwa Community Club, She was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, and the Provincial Conservative Party. Her sparkling humor and fierce loyalty will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank Father Fred Olds, Dr. Martha Shepartetscky, staff of St. Boniface Hospital, Dr. VanJaarsveldt, and the Palliative Care team for their excellent care. They also thank countless friends and family who provided support and Prayers in recent weeks. Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 21 at St. Bernadette Parish, with interment to follow in Richard, SK, Thursday August 23, 2007.
