CYRUS (CY) HEMMAT Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Cyrus (Cy) passed away on Tuesday July 31, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Remaining to forever cherish Cy's memory are his sisters, Parvin, Frohar and Fahimet Hemmat all residing in Iran. Cy was well respected in the community and will be missed by his many friends and business associates He was predeceased by his parents. Born on April 13, 1939 in Iran, Cy was a long time resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba, emigrating from Iran as a young man after attending boarding school in England. He obtained a Degree in Architecture from the University of Manitoba and devoted his 30 year career to the Province of Manitoba. His many interests included horse racing and collecting art. In compliance with Cy's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Friends and associates are invited to reminisce and share in fond memories at a reception in celebration of his life to be held on Wednesday August 22, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights Restaurant, 2169 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cy's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
