Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE SHAM (nee GILLINGHAM) Peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2007, Irene passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Frank; her brother-in-law Maurice Fox; nephew David Fox; nieces, Barbara Fox, Pam (Grant) Adolph, Judy (Mike) Dell; her great-nieces and nephews, Tracy (Darryl) Giesbrecht, Mark Adolph, Kyle Dell, Dana Dell and her great-great-nephew Owen Giesbrecht; and numerous cousins, family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Gertrude Gillingham; and her sister Joyce Fox. Irene was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she attended Lord Roberts School, Kelvin High School and Success Business College. She was a member of Saint Albans Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir and performed as a soloist. She was also a member of the Philharmonic Choir. She spent her working years in the insurance industry, retiring as a claims supervisor with INA after 25 years. After retirement Irene and Frank enjoyed traveling and summers at the cottage at Grand Beach. A memorial service celebrating Irene's life will be held on Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or a charity of your choice.
