ANDREW BYRON CHAD EYSSENS Son, Brother and Friend June 30, 1994 - October 30, 2007 It is with deep sadness that we announce our son, brother, and friend Andrew Byron Chad (Dude) Eyssens has received his angel wings in his Mom and Dad's arms on October 30, 2007. Andrew's life and memory will continue to be celebrated by his parents Jessica and Chad, sister Alex and family cat Spotty. He leaves many grandparents: Grandma Eyssens, Great- Grandma Eyssens, Papa and Gis Clements, Grandma Patti and Afi Byron Gislason. Andrew also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends, classmates, teachers and caregivers. Together we will take what Andrew taught us and move forward. Andrew will be reunited with his Grandpa Eyssens and his dog Jake, whom he had truly missed very much; as well as some friends he had met throughout his journey. Also he will finally get to meet Uncle Al, whom he had heard so much about and ironically had a lot in common with. Andrew will also be greeted by some family he never got know, Great-Grandpa Walter, Long Afi Gislason, Great-Grandpa Eyssens, and cousin Kathleen Gessell. Andrew was born June 30, 1994. Right from his first breath he embraced life and brought joy to everything and everyone to whom he encountered. Andrew spent his early years at a wonderful in-home family daycare. The Beasse's family provided him with many of the good qualities that Andrew carried with him as he became a young man. He was thrilled to be a big brother at the age of three. Andrew and Jake watched over Alex carefully. Andrew spent his fourth year in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, where he started his hockey career. Andrew spent the rest of his years in Norwood, St. Boniface, where he attend Holy Cross School. Andrew had many friends and enjoyed all sports, although hockey was his favourite, he played every sport to the fullest. Andrew's heart broke when he first got Severe Aplastic Anemia, for his love for playing sports was removed to a spectator. Andrew then became a member at St. Boniface Golf Course and his passion for golf thrived. Andrew spent the last four years of his life in and out of the hospital. He met some wonderful friends and caregivers there, where he then embraced his illness and began his battle. Andrew fought long and hard and now his battle is over. Andrew has touched many people along his path, we call life. He was grateful for many things and he enjoyed so many activities, fishing, swimming, golfing, playing the guitar, spending summers with his uncles Sean, Ian and William. Andrew enjoyed the family cottage in Lac du Bonnet. Andrew is a blessing we will hold on to forever. Andrew would like to thank all the people that have touched his life. Also a special thanks to Dr. Neil Margolis, Dr. Schroeder, Dr. Pat McCusker and the Pediatric Oncology Team. As well as many nurses Jenny, Cathy and Wanda, thanks for always being there. To the amazing doctors, nurses, residents, child life specialists, volunteers, and staff on CK5, PICU (Children's Hospital) and CancerCare Manitoba who do tremendous and caring things. We will never forget the wonderful love, care and compassion shown to Andrew and our family. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 5, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Precieux-Sang Church, 200 Kenny St., with interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery R.C. A reception will follow in the cafeteria at Holy Cross School, 300 Dubuc St. Both venues are wheelchair accessible. We welcome all to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Children's Wish Foundation or the Children's Hospital Foundation.
