NELLIE DUGAN (nee TOMKEWICH) December 24, 1923 November 1, 2007 Peacefully on November 1, 2007, Nellie passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 83. Left to mourn is her very best friend Freda Podmore; husband William Dugan; daughter Elizabeth Ann Dugan of Evanston, IL; brother Michael Tomkewich Sr.; nephew Michael Tomkewich Jr. (Anna); nieces, Mary Petriwsky, Christine Petriwsky, Patricia (Peter) Olafson and Katherine Harasyn; nephews, Greg Harasyn and Michael Stranges and many great nephews and great-nieces. She was predeceased by her father Nicolai Tomkewich; mother Anna Tomkewich (nee Bodnar); sisters, Mary Stranges, Kathleen Harasyn and Anne Petriwsky. Nellie was born and raised in Brooklands area of Winnipeg and attended Krawchuk School, Cecile Rhodes School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She worked as a personnel officer at Canada Packers. In 1949 she moved to Chicago to work where she met Bill and they were married in 1952. Many thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre who treated her as family especially Arlene and Ken. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nellie's memory to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3J 0L3.
