HENDRIK DOUWES On the 2nd of November, 2007, Hendrik passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Concordia Hospital. He is predeceased by his wife Sipkje; his parents, two siblings and his good friend Peggy. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Hendrik (Lisa); his granddaughter, Erika and his daughter Betty (Miles) Wonnek. He is survived by his sister Ina, nieces, nephews as well as many friends. He was born in Groningen (The Netherlands) in 1923 and came to Canada in 1963. Henk will be remembered for his kindness, unselfishness and his devotion to his family and friends. A special word of thanks to the Doctors and Staff of Concordia hospital for their efforts, compassion, and kindness. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Rd. Reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in Henk's memory may be made to St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB., R2H 2A7.
