REVEREND WALTER FRANZ Walter Franz, aged 67 years, of Gretna, MB and formerly of Winnipeg and Altona, MB passed away at Boundary Trails Health Centre on November 7, 2007. Walter is lovingly remembered by his wife Hilda; his children Laurie (James) Enns: Chris (Lori) Franz; Tamara (Joel) Martin; Len Franz; also by nine grandchildren. The Funeral Service for Walter Franz will be Monday, November 12, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. from the Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Altona, MB with interment to follow in the Gretna Cemetery. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Saturday, November 10, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. In memory of Rev. Walter Franz donations may be made to Native Ministery Partnership Circles, Christian Peacemaker Teams or to CancerCare Manitoba. I remember my last conversation with you like it was yesterday. I was lost and met with at church. My heart ached with pain that I couldn't bring myself to share with you and knowing that I was leaving the only place I knew as home never to return was the hardest. You told me that you would continue to pray for me and that there was a place for me in God's kingdom. I fell away from my family and knew that by choice it was best. Your kindness and your compassion for God I have kept in my heart and I remember. Hilda taught me to play piano. You accepted me for who I was. For that I am grateful. Rest in Peace with the Lord.
