JULES LUC JOSEPH FRECHETTE It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Jules after his long courageous battle with a complicated illness on November 6, 2007. At age 66, Jules passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family. A devoted husband and father, he will be lovingly missed and survived by his wife of 42 years Agnès (née Côté) and his children; Ron (Jodie; Jessika and Haley), Carole (Jacques), Lisa, Dan (Selena and Mik) and will also be missed by his brothers Raymond (Eva), Germain (Hélène), Paul (Annette), Noël (Lorraine), Robert (Rita), and sister Olive. Jules was predeceased by his father Arthur, birth mother Yvonne (née Malo) and stepmother Agnès (née Donahue) and siblings Jean, Rosaire, Rosange, and Thérèse. Jules will also be missed by the rest of his family and many friends. Jules was born March 21, 1941 and was raised in St. Malo, Manitoba. Jules lost his mother Yvonne tragically in a fire at the age of two. As a youngster he was often playing with his brothers and being mischievous. He spent his teens working on a variety of farms around St. Malo. He then travelled across Canada in the late 1950s and early 1960s working various labour jobs. In 1965 he returned to St. Malo where he met and married Agnès and together they raised four children. In their travels as a family they lived in Windsor (Ontario), Creighton (Saskatchewan), The Pas (Manitoba), Fort Frances (Ontario), and Flin Flon (Manitoba). The Fréchette family settled in Pinawa from 1978-2006. Jules took great pride in work. For most of his career he worked as a professional painter. In 1986, after suffering a major stroke, with great willpower he returned to work after a two-year recovery period. He then continued painting and before retiring in 2002 Jules was employed as Safety Inspector at Manitoba Hydro at Seven Sisters, Manitoba. He was an active member for many years with the Knights of Columbus. His leisure time included spending time with his family, hockey, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed watching sports and television. Those who knew Jules knew him as an intelligent and inquisitive conversationalist. Jules was a generous loving man. He touched many people with his humour, warmth, wisdom and strength. He was a true fighter and will always have a very special place in our hearts. He touched many lives and was passionate throughout his life and made an everlasting impression on anyone who got to know him. All who loved and knew him will miss him dearly. We love you Jules. Jules was truly thankful for his heartfelt care at the Jocelyn House in his final days. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, R2M 2W7 or call (204) 255-1781. Thank you all for your exceptional care and kindness. Prayers begin at 10:30 a.m. in St. Adolphe and will be followed by the Funeral Service celebrating Jules' life at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church on Friday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. God is in me to sustain me, beneath me to uphold me and beside me to guide me. God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms. - The Salvation Army. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements 775-2220.
