Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLINE (CARRIE) MASIK Peacefully, on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Fred Douglas Lodge, Caroline Masik, aged 95 years, was called home to be with her Lord. Caroline was born on April 12, 1912, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Caroline will be deeply missed by her daughters Nancy Dinardo, Patricia Gregorashuk, (grandson Jeffrey), Sylvia Misanchuk (fiance Joe) and her extended family Barbara Park, Edward Kriskow and Joe Kowalick, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Michael on January 2, 1979, parents Metro and Anastasia Belinsky, brother Bill, sisters Mary and Sophie, sons-in-law Joe and Ted, and grandson Rodney Gregorashuk. Mom did not always have an easy life but that did not deter her from being a loving and caring wife, mother, baba, and good neighbour to all. She was a generous and kind hearted person who liked to laugh, tell jokes, and entertain. During visits from family or friends, Mom always offered something to eat. As a longtime resident at Fred Douglas Lodge, since December 1988, she made many new friends. She also had many talents, and taught herself to play piano. She loved to do artwork and many of us received birthday, Easter and Christmas cards handmade by Mom. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 21 (today) at Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Ave. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fred Douglas Lodge Society, or to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Louis Chung, the wonderful staff, nurses and caregivers at Fred Douglas Lodge, especially those who worked on Spruce Unit; Bob and Marge, the Monday night volunteers who made Mom laugh with their good sense of humour and jokes; Reverend Paul for his spiritual words and prayers, the Basilian Fathers and Fr. Isidore at St. Nicholas for his spiritual visits, prayers and blessings, especially during her final days. God bless you all.
