ALMA BERTHA HARTWIG On Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at the age of 84 years, our beloved mother, and grandmother passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital with family members by her side. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Judy (Maurice Dufault), grandsons Aaron and Brenden; daughter Norma Hartwig, granddaughters Leah and Kerry, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, brother Theodore Steg and sister Elsie Casper. Alma was born near Emerson in the Friedensthal district. Here she met her beloved husband Ted and together they farmed until 1973. At this time, they relocated to Winnipeg and Alma worked at Eaton's and The Bay. Alma was a kind, warm and loving person, whose faith in God never waivered. With her gift of music, she loved to sing as well as play her piano and organ. Mom always took a real interest in people and in her life, bonded easily with so many. The love of her family was the joy of her life. Mom you were always there for us and Grandma, you and your grandchildren had a bond that was so close and special because of your truly unconditional love. The family wishes to express their heart felt appreciation to Mom's special caregivers at the Golden Links Lodge, Dr. Brendan MacDougall, the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit and Norma's co-workers in the St. Boniface Operating Room. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
