EDGAR FINLAYSON On Sunday, December 9, 2007, Dad left this world to join his beloved wife Rita who predeceased him in March of this year. Edgar leaves his three children, Robin (Lori), Roslyn (Dan), and Richard (Norma); five grandchildren, Lisa, Paul, Ryan, Tyler and Caleb. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He was a very proud veteran. Following the war Dad became an expert in many trades before launching a very successful career in real estate. Upon retirement he and mom enjoyed many winter getaways to Florida. Dad was an avid gardener and wood maker and an extremely sharp dresser. He also had a passion for cars. But most of all he was a family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre who took good care of our father. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or to St. Chad's Anglican Church, 3390 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3K 0Z3. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
