LAWRENCE EDWARD FUNK June 16, 1947 December 8, 2007 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Uncle Funky (60) early Saturday morning at Pine Falls Hospital. Lawrence was predeceased by his father Edward, mother Josephine and sister Candace. He is survived by his brother-in-law Steve, niece Jodi (Rob) and nephews Clinton (Lisa) and Travis. He was born in Winnipeg but spent most of his childhood growing up in Hodgson, MB. The family moved to Bissett in the 60s where he worked in the mine for a short time. He took an operating course for bulldozers and sat on one for the next 30 years building logging roads in the mountains on the Queen Charlotte Islands. Retired for only a year, Lawrence moved back to Bissett to enjoy the next step of life but unfortunately spent most of that year struggling with lung cancer. Lawrence enjoyed cocktails, cooking and making others laugh with his story telling skills. He had a special kind of humour and outlook on life that made him unique and which no one will forget. He was a very generous person with a big heart with a special gift of being able to talk to anyone. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. No service will be held.
