ARLENE SPENCE Sadly on December. 29, 2007 our loving mother, Arlene Spence, of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, was taken from us after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses, at the age of 64. She will always be in the hearts of her children Dorothy (Ozzy), Mike (Heidi), Farrell (Angel), Winston, Jon, Nicole (Rod), Matthew (Freda), Jaquie, Chuck, Freddy, Vivian (Jeff) and her special son-in-law Eddie. She will also be missed dearly by her sisters Clara (Don), Mabel, Shirley (Jeffry), Linda (Clarence), Delores (Wilfred), Lorrayne (Frank), Anita and her brother Douglas. Arlene had a large extended family with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many grandchildren, and also her cat Benny Bones, that will cherish her memory and miss her. Arlene was predeceased by her mother and father Esther and Cook; siblings Kenneth, David, Roland, Victoria and Bobby, and her nephews Christopher and Corey. Arlene was born on January 26, 1943 in Pine Falls. She spent her childhood in Brokenhead but as an adult left her community to experience the world. She returned to Brokenhead in 1983 where she lived until her passing. Arlene was kind and caring with those she loved. She was an awesome mom and grandma who loved us all very much and we will miss her forever. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with interment to follow in the Scanterbury Cemetery.
