ALEXANDER MANNING LCDR (Retired) 1942 - 2007 Following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis Al was released from his suffering December 28, 2007. Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB he was the son of Edward and Jean (Meindl) Manning (both deceased). Al served in the Navy for 33 years at Halifax, NS, Victoria, BC, Trenton ON and Ottawa, ON. Beloved husband for 41 years of Judith (Boyd). Loving father of Alison (MWO Charles Beattie) and Jeff (Nina Karhu) and three grandchildren, Ian Beattie, Sierra and Aryn Manning. Al is survived by three sisters, Rosemary Glockner (Dallas, TX), Patricia Dakin (Fort Frances, ON) and Frances Manning-Morris (Orleans, ON). Memorial donations to the MS Society of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences to the Ottawa Citizen www.remembering.ca
