LILLIAN AUDREY SIMPKINS (nee WAYTIUK) After a lengthy illness, Lillian Audrey Simpkins passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, with her loving family by her side at the West Park Manor Care Home, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 79 years. Remaining to forever cherish Lillian's memory are her loving husband of 59 and one-half years of marriage, Harold; her children, Ken, Nancy (Jim Brennan), Chris (Cathie Hamm), Lucille (Bert Martin); her daughter-in-law Peggy Simpkins; her four grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Michael and David; and four great-grandchildren. Lillian is also survived by her sister Anne Porteous; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Lucy and Klym Waytiuk of East Selkirk, Manitoba; four brothers and four sisters. A funeral service for Lillian will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba. An interment will be held at a later date. Lillian's family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Fort Garry Care Centre and West Park Manor. During the past five and one-half years the staff at both facilities treated Lillian with dignity and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
