MARJORIE A. BROMLEY (nee PRESCOTT) It is with great sadness that we announce that our precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 3, 2008. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul Bromley (Doreen), Judy Walker (Keith) and Jim (Louise) her 12 grandchildren, Chris (Margie), Kate, Kevin, Megan Provencher (Rob), Sara Hogarth (James), Tim (Darlene) and Matthew (Alica), Kelly and Jeffrey, Gregg, Trevor and Stephen Walker, as well as her 21 great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Emily, Paul, Victoria, Ryan, Dylan, Vanessa, Eric, Alia, Adam, Ethan, Joelle, Jennifer, Matthew, Christian, Jordan, Jessa, Lauren, Leah and Evan. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Herbert (Bert) and infant son Timothy; her mother Louise and father Louis Napolean (Nap), her eight siblings, Fred Prescott, Mary Srogen, Geraldine Loiselle, Dorothy Baudry, Harriet Williams, Leona Woods, Josephine Smith and Josephine's twin brother Joseph who died in early infancy, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Marjorie was born on August 4, 1907 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She moved to Winnipeg as a young girl with her family. She was blessed with a lovely singing voice and as a young woman entertained at many community events. In 1931 she married Bert Bromley and in 1940 they moved to Fort Rouge very close to St. Ignatius Church. She sang with the senior choir of St. Ignatius Church for over 40 years and as a senior herself entertained at some nursing homes in the area. She was a long-time member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was also a long-time member of the Stafford Seniors group and then with her move to St. John's Haven, was energized through the Tuesday afternoon Seniors group Holy Family Church. She happily participated in social events at Holy Family Church and sometimes helped with preparing perogies for their monthly perogy suppers. She was an avid walker and bowler. She enjoyed travelling with family and friends with one of her more memorable experiences being a visit to Rome and the Vatican. Marjorie had a deep and abiding faith which sustained her at difficult times in her life. She took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren often hosting First Friday lunches sleepovers and cookie making lessons at her house. She cherished all her Loved Ones . She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her gentle spirit, grace, courage, guidance and charity. On August 4, 2007 Marjorie celebrated her Centennial birthday with family and friends at a mass at St. Ignatius Church and a surprise reception in the church basement. The family expresses their thanks for the care provided by Dr. Arthur Blank and homecare staff. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Church, Corydon Avenue and Stafford St. on Tuesday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220

  • To Jim, Your mother lived a long and rich life, however, it is hard to lose a parent no matter what our age. Thank you for your kind wishes about my father's death. Angela - Posted by: Angela Humphrey, (nee Hay) (friend ) on: Jun 07, 2013
