Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHELE CAVALLO It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Michele Cavallo on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife, Maria Cavallo; children, Toni (Dianne), Rudy (Carla) Cavallo and grandchildren, Carleena, Kiara, Matthew, and Tyler. He will also be missed by sister Maria (Italy); nieces and nephews Maria Lehingrat (Paul), Tony Cavallo, Maurizio Vadacchino (Kelly), Benito Vadacchino (Tracy), Emilia Vadacchino and sisters-in-law Rosa Nardi (Domenico), Gina Vadacchino (Nicola), and Maria Chilelli. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous nieces and nephews in Italy and Germany. Michele was predeceased by his father Roccantonio; mother Carmela Carbonaro; brothers, Angelo (Sabbia) Pasquale and Rafaele; mother-in-law Rosaria Cavaliere, and father-in-law Antonio Cavaliere. Michele was born in Satriano Di Lucania, Italy on November 9, 1920. He proudly served Italy in the Second World War and was decorated with the military Medal of Valour for Bravery under fire in North Africa. He left Italy shortly after the war to search for work and eventually settled in Winnipeg. After working numerous jobs he landed his dream position with the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation Department where his friends knew him as Mike . He retired in 1985 and enjoyed his Bonus Years , gardening, reading, travelling to Italy and Mexico, walking his dogs and especially long walks along the beach. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with viewing starting at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum. A special thank you to niece Maria Lehingrat (Paul) and nephew Tony Cavallo as well as, the doctors and staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital.
