VIOLET (VI) LILLIAN MCCORMICK Peacefully on January 6, 2008 with family at her side, Vi McCormick passed away at Riverview Health Centre. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 54 years Ken, her children Alan (Rita), April, Eric and Joan (Christopher) grandchildren Ryan, Angela, Jessica, Austin, Connor, Kaleigh, Levi, Ryan and Michael. She is also survived by her brother Normand Russell, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. Vi was born in Ogema, Saskatchewan on June 21, 1928 and moved many times in her youth until settling in Winnipeg. Mom's passions included playing crib, reading and stoking the stove to keep the cabin warm, but nothing compared to her love for her grandchildren and their pets. Choosing to raise her children and grandchildren rather than working outside the home filled her life with challenges and joy. Her sprit will live on in all of us. The family wish to extend special thanks to the staff of Unit 5 at Victoria Hospital and 3 East at Riverview Health Centre for all their loving care.
