NETTIE SPIERS August 25, 1940 - January 15, 2008 It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister on January 15, 2008, at the age of 67 years. Nettie will be sadly missed by her husband Hugh; children, Willy, Ken (Barb), Donna (Derek); grandchildren, Melissa, Shaun, Jaymee, Sarah and Emily; sister Flora, brother Carl (Pauline), and many nieces, great-nieces and nephews and numerous relations overseas. Nettie was born August 25, 1940, in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. When she was four, she moved with her family to Long Lake, Manitoba, until she was 16, when she moved to Winnipeg to work. Six years later she married her husband Hugh, and they began their family. Nettie cherished her time with her family, attending her grandchildrens' events, volunteer work, and time at Long Lake. Nettie had many hobbies such as fishing, crocheting, bowling, baking, and fixing or building anything she put her mind to; she enjoyed the challenge and was truly an amazing person. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
