OREST SMELSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Orest Smelski on January 28, 2008, at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 92 years. Orest was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Maria, as well as brother Mark. Orest is survived by the love of his life Olga of 67 years; sisters, Nellie, Cory, and Louise, brother Louie; many nieces and nephews and very special friends, Wilf and Sylvia Zaharia. Orest started working at CN in 1937 and retired in 1976. He was a chief engineer in the powerhouse. Orest loved his cottage at the lake in Polar Bay, fishing and hunting in his youth and loved his dogs. Orest was a loving and caring person and will be missed by all who knew him. At Orest's request cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.
