MAFALDA CEFALO (nee MONTANINO) Mafalda Cefalo, aged 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 with her family by her side. She was born on December 9, 1916 in Monocalzati, Italy. Mafalda is survived by her children Concettina (Lino) of Bergamo, Italy, Geraldina (Nello) in Winnipeg, Rita (Carmine) of Manocalzati, Italy, Albino (Felicia) and Mario (Marion) both in Winnipeg and sister Olimpia in Italy. She is also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Carmine and Concetta and her loving husband Antonio in 1985, brothers Luca, Luigi, Olindo and Roberto, and sisters Teresa and Regina. Mafalda, along with her family immigrated to Canada in 1968. Mafalda was fortunate enough to have spent her entire life surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their compassion and dedicated care they have given Mom over the past two years. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment to follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Parish or to a charity of one's choice.
