FLORENCE MARIE SMITH April 12, 1932 February 16, 2008 We are saddened to announce that Florence Marie Smith passed away suddenly, but peacefully with family at her side following a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. Florence was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Gordon Arthur in 1992; her brother Wayne, her mother Minnie, and her father Richard. Florence is lovingly remembered by her children, Lynda (Garry), Dawn, Joni (Darrel), Tim, and Dan (Karen); ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Alma; brothers Gordon (Linda), Bob (Carole); several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Florence will be especially missed by her dear friend and companion William Heck and by Tom the cat. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of mom's life will occur on Thursday, February 21st at Dryden First United Church at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dryden Regional Health Centre CT Scan Fund or a charity of your choice through the Stevens Funeral Homes Moffat Chapel, P.O. Box 412, Dryden P8N 2Z1.
