Date of Passing: Feb 16, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WILLIAM BENNINK It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather at Concordia Hospital on February 16, 2008 at the age of 75. John was predeceased by his parents Matilda and Henry, his wife Lillian and his eldest daughter Shelly. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his daughters Barbara and Roberta, his grandchildren Kandyce (Fred), Randall, Ryan (Michelle) and three great-grandchildren Ava, Tayden and Kohen, as well as numerous relatives and friends. John was born in Winnipeg and grew up in East Kildonan. As a young man he enjoyed sports. He worked for Remington Rand until venturing into his own small business. John met and married his soul mate Lillian and enjoyed 54 years of laughing, loving and sun filled winters in the warm weather of the south. John was extremely proud of his involvement with various service clubs and was still active as a director with the River East Optimists. John was happiest tending to his tomato garden and watching his banana tree not bear fruit. Family and friends will continue to hold him in their hearts and he will be forever remembered. A funeral service for John will be held on Friday, February 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Cremation will follow. The family would like to thank the Fire and Ambulance Paramedics, the staff of the E.R. at Concordia Hospital and the WRHA transport team. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy 668-3151
