EUGENE RAYMOND HAMEL On Monday, February 18, 2008, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Eugene Hamel peacefully passed away with his family by his side, at the age of 68 years. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Jeannette, Lianne (Brad) Lambert, Danielle (Mark) Morton, and Rochelle (Jeff) Stevenson of Toronto, five grandchildren; Evan, Courtney, Kyle, Lucas, and Taya, sisters Emily (Bob) Villabrille, and Ida Mullican, brother Maxim Hamel, in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, three brothers, and one sister. Gene was employed with the St. Boniface Hospital for 42 years, as a Vascular Technologist. One of his true passions after being a vascular Tech was his involvement in music ministry which he did for many years in various parishes. He could never sit idle, always reading, and always learning. His greatest passion was his family; loving referred to as Papa by his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, with Father Fred Olds celebrant. Gene will be laid to rest in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thank you to all the staff of 4B, of St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care and support.
