RICHARD ALLAN MALINOSKI
Date of Passing: Feb 19, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD ALLAN MALINOSKI 1943 - 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at the age of 64. Dick is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dianne, daughter Kimberly (Manny), granddaughter Maddy, son Paul, mother Doris, sisters, Janet (Larry) and Leslie (Sandy), and brothers, Gordon (Gladys) and Reg, as well as many nieces and nephews, and of course Bailey. He was predeceased by infant sons, Cameron (1968), Todd (1972), and his father Reg. Dick was born in Brandon, and grew up in Sioux Lookout, ON, and Winnipeg. As a youngster he was very involved in all kinds of sports but truly loved hockey and baseball. In his late teens he played hockey for the Winnipeg Braves Juniors. In 1964 he and Dianne married and moved to Dryden, ON, to start their life together. Once again Dick was involved in hockey and baseball and took up a few new activities: fishing, hunting, etc. In 1970 Dick returned his family to Winnipeg and worked for Silverwoods Dairies until 1974 when he and Dianne purchased the Dairy Queen in Transcona, and they continued to operate this establishment until retiring in 2004. Upon retirement he started to golf regularly, spent many hours at the Downs, enjoyed the yard, barbecuing and the gazebo where he had coffee and breakfast with Bailey most mornings. He quietly took great pride in his family and was especially taken with Maddy. As requested by Dick, immediate cremation and interment has taken place and there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Diabetes Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation. WE'LL MISS YOU PAPA! CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715

My deepest condolences Diane. The few times I have been in Winnipeg I could never locate you two. - Posted by: Nils Pedersen (Old friend and teamate with the Winnipeg Braves Junior Hockey Team 1962-63) on: Sep 17, 2012

Nobby was always known as a great team mate and a good friend. When we played with the Braves, Richard always told me he wanted to own a Dairy Queen some day and that he did. Richard has left us all too soon. - Posted by: Dave Pearce (Friend) on: Feb 25, 2008

A man's man, gruff, big heart, loyal, many friends, I remember his days at the bar on the river, "hey Dick don't forget your perogies." his coaching fastball, and at one tournament in Dryden a fan yelling at him, 'hey, if you were two inches taller..you'd be round". Lots of laughs, serious at times, like the tribute said loved his family and friends, if you were his friend, it was for life. We will miss him.
